A FAMILY TRIP TO TIRUNELVELI

Family trips are rejuvenation points and the impact of it is not measurable by yards or sticks. It is the time we give to each other without preoccupations. I would recommend to have a family tip atleast once a year to everyone. We reached Tirunelvi by train.

Nellaiyappar Temple is a temple of historic significance, it is a huge temple and required more than 2 hours to cover it fully. The temple is also one of the five sabhas of Lord Natrajar, Thamira Sabhai. The sabhai is such a beautiful artwork and is used only during Thiruvadirai held in the Margazhi (tamil month).

Baana Theertham waterfalls was our next destination. To reach the falls one has to get to Karaiyar Dam, which is 25km from Ambasamudram, a small town. The route from Ambasamudram to the dam after Papanasam, from where the hills and greenery start is a spectacular view.

The last place was the Iruttu Kadai known for its mouth watering Tirunelvi halwa. The halwa is given on a plaintain leaf and is priced according to season and availability. Whenever you go, you can receive a plate of hot halwa which is found only here.
